Kohinoor Weddings
Indian weddings atRoyalton Bávaro
Bávaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
A family all-inclusive on Bávaro beach where Royalton sells its South Asian collection, Kohinoor. The Indian menus are already written and the rules are published in full, which makes this one of the easiest resorts in Punta Cana to plan honestly, and one where the limits matter as much as the inclusions.
Why Couples Choose It
What this resort actually commits to
Kohinoor is sold at this resort
Royalton publishes a Kohinoor book for Bávaro itself, with two South Asian packages. The wedding office already works from a South Asian plan rather than adapting a Western one.
An Indian menu you choose from
The Kohinoor book includes a pick-and-choose Indian menu for breakfast, the cocktail hour, a vegetarian lunch and dinner, from aloo kulcha to chana masala, served buffet or family style.
A ballroom that can run late
Outdoor events finish at eleven, but the ballroom can run until two in the morning for an extra charge. A sangeet or a reception that is meant to go on has a room that lets it.
Every rule written down
Royalton publishes its South Asian wedding policies in detail: vendors, fire, food, curfews. You can plan against the real limits from the first conversation instead of discovering them at contract.
Know This Before You Fall In Love
The published limits
Every venue has them. Most planners let you discover them at contract. We would rather you weighed them now, while changing your mind is free.
- Catering is in-house only. Outside food and drink cannot be brought in, and caterers and chefs are not on the list of permitted outside vendors.
- Outside décor companies and florists are not permitted.
- Your own photographer, videographer, DJ or hair and makeup artist pays a vendor fee per service, per day, waived only if they stay for the required minimum nights. Drones are not allowed.
- Fire-related items cannot be brought from home. They are rented through the resort’s approved vendors, and the wedding consultant decides which locations allow them. The havan is not named.
- Outdoor private events end at 11pm, which the resort calls non-negotiable. From May to November, beach events after 9pm can face noise and lighting limits for nesting turtles.
- Royalton publishes modest capacities for the event spaces here, so the size of your guest list decides which of them work.
One thing in its favour that is easy to miss: this resort takes all ages. Several highly rated properties in the same bracket are adults-only, which quietly rules them out for a wedding that travels with grandparents and small children in the same room block.
Before You Commit
What we get in writing for you
These are the questions that decide whether a wedding works at a property, and the answers change by resort and sometimes by venue within one resort. We put them to the wedding office and get them confirmed before you sign anything.
- The havan, in writing and by venue: which locations allow the approved fire items.
- The baraat, which the Kohinoor book does not mention.
- Whether Jain, halal or no-onion-no-garlic menus can be prepared from the Kohinoor menus.
- Which space seats your whole party for the reception, and the indoor backup for each outdoor event.
- Your room block terms, which are negotiated and not published.
Planning is free, and it stays free. We are paid by the resort on your guests' room block, which is why we can afford to tell you when a venue is wrong for you.
