Indian weddings atHard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya
Puerto Aventuras, Riviera Maya, Mexico
The one to choose when the wedding is big and runs over several days. There is enough event space here that four events never compete for the same room.
Why Couples Choose It
What this resort actually commits to
Four events never compete for a room
Several ballrooms here are each large enough for a full seated dinner on their own, and the largest subdivides many ways. A mehndi, a sangeet, a ceremony and a reception can all have their own space on the same day.
The late-night crowd and the family crowd can be separated
There is an adults-only wing alongside the family resort, which is a practical answer to the oldest problem at a multi-generational wedding.
An outdoor curfew you can actually plan against
Outdoor functions finish at 10:30pm, published brand-wide and identical across their properties. That is a limit, but a published one, which is rarer than it should be.
Know This Before You Fall In Love
The published limits
Every venue has them. Most planners let you discover them at contract. We would rather you weighed them now, while changing your mind is free.
- Open flame is not addressed in any published document. We checked the property wedding pages, the FAQs, the marriage requirements and the programme pages, and found nothing either way.
- There is no published provision for an outside caterer, and all food is resort-supplied.
- The baraat is unpublished. A live horse in particular is not something to assume here.
- Around an hour by road from Cancún airport, which is worth knowing when elderly relatives are flying in.
One thing in its favour that is easy to miss: this resort takes all ages. Several highly rated properties in the same bracket are adults-only, which quietly rules them out for a wedding that travels with grandparents and small children in the same room block.
Before You Commit
What we get in writing for you
These are the questions that decide whether a wedding works at a property, and the answers change by resort and sometimes by venue within one resort. We put them to the wedding office and get them confirmed before you sign anything.
- Open flame for the havan, in writing, from the resort rather than from a brochure.
- The baraat: route, drummers, and whether a horse is possible at this property.
- Whether Jain, halal or no-onion-no-garlic menus can be certified.
Planning is free, and it stays free. We are paid by the resort on your guests' room block, which is why we can afford to tell you when a venue is wrong for you.
