Indian weddings atMoon Palace Cancún
Cancún, Mexico
The default first call for a full four-event Hindu wedding in Mexico. Palace runs a South Asian collection under the Mahal name, and this is the only Mexican property we found that supplies a havan setup as a catalogue item and keeps a horse on the property for the baraat.
Why Couples Choose It
What this resort actually commits to
A havan you can order rather than plead for
Palace’s South Asian ceremony collection lists a havan with wooden sticks, and a gold Ganesh, as things they supply in house. That is not the same as a written fire permission and we say so plainly, but it is the closest any Mexican property comes.
A horse for the baraat, kept on the property
Their baraat collection includes a ghodi horse, a dhol player, colour sticks and a cart rigged with proper audio. The horse is available at this property and one sister property only, which is why the baraat question is worth asking early.
Rain backup is a written inclusion
Not a reassurance from a coordinator. Backup locations in case of rain appear in the written private-events benefit.
Event hours you can build a schedule around
Complimentary event hours run to 10pm, with a paid extension available to midnight. Knowing where the free time ends is how you stop a sangeet becoming an invoice.
Know This Before You Fall In Love
The published limits
Every venue has them. Most planners let you discover them at contract. We would rather you weighed them now, while changing your mind is free.
- The largest single banquet room here is modest for an estate this size, so a large seated reception needs care over which space you take.
- Outside catering is documented in practice at a sister property in the same complex, not at this one.
One thing in its favour that is easy to miss: this resort takes all ages. Several highly rated properties in the same bracket are adults-only, which quietly rules them out for a wedding that travels with grandparents and small children in the same room block.
Before You Commit
What we get in writing for you
These are the questions that decide whether a wedding works at a property, and the answers change by resort and sometimes by venue within one resort. We put them to the wedding office and get them confirmed before you sign anything.
- The havan, in writing. They sell the kit; we want the permission.
- Jain, halal and no-onion-no-garlic menus, none of which are addressed in published material.
- Which indoor room backs up which outdoor space, since the written inclusion does not name them.
Planning is free, and it stays free. We are paid by the resort on your guests' room block, which is why we can afford to tell you when a venue is wrong for you.
