Ishq
Indian weddings atHard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana
Macao, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
A Punta Cana resort with its own Indian wedding programme, Ishq, and ballroom space for a large seated reception. It also comes with one counterintuitive rule that shapes every other decision, and we would rather you heard it from us first.
Why Couples Choose It
What this resort actually commits to
Indian food from the resort’s own chefs
Hard Rock’s own Indian wedding page promises traditional cuisine made by its chefs, and its Indian Wedding Specialists arrange mehndi artists as well. In a country with a thin South Asian supply chain, a kitchen that already cooks the food is worth a great deal.
Ballroom space for a full seated reception
Indoors, properly, without a marquee. For a large guest list in hurricane season that is not a luxury.
A published outdoor curfew, the same at every venue
Entertainment runs until 10pm on every outdoor space, reported identically across all of them. Consistent limits are easier to plan around than generous ones that vary.
Know This Before You Fall In Love
The published limits
Every venue has them. Most planners let you discover them at contract. We would rather you weighed them now, while changing your mind is free.
- No local outside vendors. Their own FAQ says so in as many words. Third-party vendors are permitted only if you bring them from your own country, so your décor and your DJ fly from Toronto rather than being hired in Punta Cana. This is the single most important thing to know about this property.
- Open flame is not addressed in anything the resort publishes.
One thing in its favour that is easy to miss: this resort takes all ages. Several highly rated properties in the same bracket are adults-only, which quietly rules them out for a wedding that travels with grandparents and small children in the same room block.
Before You Commit
What we get in writing for you
These are the questions that decide whether a wedding works at a property, and the answers change by resort and sometimes by venue within one resort. We put them to the wedding office and get them confirmed before you sign anything.
- Open flame for the havan, in writing.
- What bringing a vendor "from their country of origin" covers in practice, including who pays their room.
- The baraat, which is unpublished here.
Planning is free, and it stays free. We are paid by the resort on your guests' room block, which is why we can afford to tell you when a venue is wrong for you.
