Generations Riviera Maya, Riviera Maya

Indian weddings atGenerations Riviera Maya

Riviera Maya, Mexico

An all-suite, all-ages resort on the Riviera Maya, now run by Lomas Hospitality after years as a Karisma property. It has an Indian restaurant on site, and South Asian weddings have been held here with the resort doing the catering. What it does not have any more is a published South Asian package, so more has to be agreed in writing.

Why Couples Choose It

What this resort actually commits to

An Indian restaurant on the property

Habb, the resort’s Indian restaurant, serves dishes from dal tadka to butter chicken. Your guests have familiar food between the events, not only at them.

Every age is welcome

Generations is a family resort open to guests of all ages, and guests over eighteen may also use the adults-only El Dorado Royale and El Dorado Casitas Royale. The grandparents and the toddlers can all stay together.

South Asian weddings have been held here

A 2025 wedding featured by Maharani Weddings ran a haldi, a sangeet and a baraat here, with an evening ceremony by the sea at which the sacred fire was lit, and the resort did the catering.

A wedding designer from the start

Lomas assigns a personalised wedding designer who works through the venue, the menu, the flowers and the cake with you, alongside the resort’s on-site coordinator.

Know This Before You Fall In Love

The published limits

Every venue has them. Most planners let you discover them at contract. We would rather you weighed them now, while changing your mind is free.

  • Lomas publishes no South Asian wedding package for this resort. The South Asian Wedding Experience that offered a baraat with a horse and a dhol player was Karisma’s, and it ended with the change of operator.
  • The sacred fire has been lit at a wedding here, but no fire policy is published. For a havan: not published, get it in writing.
  • Outside-vendor rules and fees are not published by the resort. Not published, get it in writing.
  • The music end time for outdoor venues is not published by the resort. Not published, get it in writing.

One thing in its favour that is easy to miss: this resort takes all ages. Several highly rated properties in the same bracket are adults-only, which quietly rules them out for a wedding that travels with grandparents and small children in the same room block.

Before You Commit

What we get in writing for you

These are the questions that decide whether a wedding works at a property, and the answers change by resort and sometimes by venue within one resort. We put them to the wedding office and get them confirmed before you sign anything.

  • The havan, in writing and by venue: whether a fire kund and ghee are allowed.
  • The baraat under Lomas: route, dhol players, and whether a horse can still be arranged.
  • Whether an outside Indian caterer may be brought in, and whether the kitchen can certify Jain, halal or no-onion-no-garlic menus.
  • Which outside vendors are allowed, and the fee for each.
  • The music curfew for each venue, and your room block terms, which are negotiated and not published.

Planning is free, and it stays free. We are paid by the resort on your guests' room block, which is why we can afford to tell you when a venue is wrong for you.
